A Socialist as the Mayor of NYC-The capital of Capitalism? NBA “rigging” and gambling conspiracies become very real. TDS- “no kings” protests happen against a duly elected President that sums up politics on the left. Democrats enact the filibuster; they refuse to open the government leaving the power of the purse to the very man they claim is a king. These same people refuse to praise the historic peace accords Trump has brought to the world. All we at ofthefreemarket.com have is a shake of our heads at the audacity of it all.
Socialism-Hot in NYC?
New York City-The pinnacle of capitalism and free markets to the rest of the world for so long is on the verge of electing a self proclaimed socialist as its mayor here in less than a couple of weeks. Mr. M promises free public transit, rent freezes enmasse and taxing the rich! These are just a couple of his “policies”- more like catch phrases since he has yet to show any concrete path to make these a reality if elected. Where did NYC go? How did one of the greatest cities of all time become a place filled with nonsense.
New York has become a place that wants to stifle innovation and growth of the economy, and promote victim politics. The subway system in New York was originally privately owned It only became public to stop the raise in fares. Now fares are at an all time high, and the updates and security of the system is the worst it has ever been. Rent freezes are not new to the big apple, and the negative effects of the past still haunt the lack of affordable housing today. Ghost apartments are everywhere symbolically mirroring the Bronx Fires of the 1970s as landlords are barely trending water, or have just thrown in the towel because of already suffocating housing regulations around rent.
Don’t worry- We can tax the rich to solve all of our problems according to Candidate M. Rather than let the market be free of regulation, and enforce existing laws to keep public spaces, and transit safe. Housing regulations need to be pulled back in New York City. Let the market correct and fix rent naturally. Less regulation will create a competitive space where everyone from tenants and landlords can win. Taxing the rich as he proudly says over and over never works, and all that will happen is market makers will exit stage left-the ones who remain will get stuck with a tab, that will stifle true economic growth. Taxation is theft, and a weak excuse for a true lack of actual policy to better the largest city in America.
Audacity In Sports?
What a wild time to be alive in 2025. A head coach, a starting player, and whole teams are being accused of participating in organized crime schemes. As sports gambling has swept the nation with the rise of Draft Kings, Fanduel, Bet 360, and Bet MGM to name a few-The validity of outcomes has always been wondered by everyday people. This past week the conspiracy theorists scored again- Big time. The NBA is confirmed to have had insider manipulation, and left leverage in the hands of organized crime. This shouldn’t be a shock with all the crazy things in today’s world.
Watching a game yesterday people just want to escape reality as usual with professional sports. The average person seems to be surprised, but accepting of the fact that another facet of life is not what it appears. Today- people continue to believe all of these outcomes are left to chance when reality could very well be the opposite of that. The real question here is what other sports are being influenced? And how deep does organized crime go in this multi-billion dollar industry of professional sports and gambling. The consequence seems to be that some headlines will be made. No real consumer blow back will come to harm these empires as I stated above- people will continue to tune in and make bets. I hope I am wrong..
TDS-No Kings, and a World Trending Toward Peace.
TDS stands for Trump Derangement Syndrome which is pure hatred for everything that happens under Trump whether it is good or not truly-it is all bad simply because of Trump. The no kings protest is a perfect example of TDS playing out in real life. America doesn’t have a king, we already have a national “no kings” holiday called Independence Day. It falls on July 4th every year in case you forgot.
The TDS couldn’t be more out of touch with reality-simply look at the facts. 8 peace deals have happened under the current administration. The biggest one being the cease fire between Gaza and Israel garnering crickets and critique from the left vs praise for the fact a horrible conflict is seeing the beginning of an end. Iran and Israel being put to bed, India and Pakistan two nuclear powers were talked off the ledge. All these deals brokered by the current administration. Heroism at its finest if it was anyone but Trump at the helm.
Crime rates fall in sanctuary cities by double digits due to enforcement of the law of the land, and campaign promises are being kept-but orange man bad? The world of foreign affairs has never been better and the exposure of waste fraud and abuse which so many people voted for is seen as horrible, and unamerican to the left. This is leaving so many people like myself in the middle wondering “what is wrong with these people?” Genuinely.
Then these same people decide to placate to the madness by forcing a majority vote on a simple continuing resolution. Democrats shut the government down as a “protest” or as the number two in the house described it use their only moment of leverage to accomplish what? Going against the wishes of the American people’s mandate in the general election. To win one gubernatorial race in Virginia? To defend the “rights” of non-citizans and hurt American citizens in the process? The irony speaks for itself.

This is only a highlight, a peak if you are into everything going in the world today making us and so many other moderate, and regular people think the audacity of it all has got to stop! These are the same people refusing to speak to reporters because they pose a very reasonable question about a candidate’s policy or view. The facts are being viewed as racist, and fascist speech more and more. The Orwellian views are flooding the left side of politics and they continue to shut and scream and pout about the fact people question their nonsensical views. Even the news about the NBA, and the response is to watch the games and cheer on as usual? Seems dystopic from my view.
I hope Mr. M wins in New York City. The left deserves it. I hope that TDS continues. I hope that these ridiculous views carry democrats through the elections this year and into the mid terms next year. The outlandish views will only push more and more middle of the road Americans to the America first policies. America First should always be the forefront of politics in America. Publicly funded news outlets should not push Non-American, very biased policies to harm American values. I hope the Far Left continues to push moderates out of the party.. America needs it. The world needs it.
