“You don’t build a business, you build people, then people build the business.” -Zig Ziglar

What do all successful businesses have in common? That may seem like a hard question to answer, but the answer is simpler than you may think. Small businesses have a heavy competition load in today’s highly competitive market space. So what makes small businesses succeed today? People, and caring about people. Successful businesses always care.

Paying It Forward

Caring about people, whether they are employees or customers is the key to any successful small business. All successful entrepreneurs have paid their way forward to success. From Napoleon Hill to Zig Ziglar and beyond, they’ll tell you paying it forward with care will get you where you want to go.

Napoleon Hill said it best “ If you help enough people get what they want out of life, you too will find what you are looking for…” Success at any level comes with a standard of caring.

The Value of Small Business

We are done with holiday shopping this year, and now more than ever during this holiday season it is important to reflect on the value we place on our transactions. When you are getting your morning coffee, or lunch are you buying big or small? Do you care about where your products come from? Are you focused on speed of delivery, or about how sustainable the transaction is?

Small Business vs. Big Business

Small businesses could become a thing of the past if we continue to allow corporate monopolies and takeovers. Innovation is driven by a spear head of small business, local market competition is key to a free market. We are the life and blood of the free market as consumers, and participants of the economy. Where retail, and main street folks spend their money matters. We too must care about small businesses.

Day by day, Amazon, Pepsi, Google, and other massive companies snatch up percentages of every facet of our lives. It’s up to us to vote with our wallets on their control of the market space. Your friends, neighbors, and family businesses are so much more real than buying something on Amazon. Support small business period.

Thankful for Small Business

It’s that time of year to be thankful for what we have, and what we can give. Remember that what you give your attention to can run so many of your life’s decisions. Let’s be mindful in 2022, and help support and lift up our community businesses before we give way to the corporate giants. I took the extra time this year to shop small, because small. We all must care about small business.
